FlagshipKansas.Tech, the leading organization championing the growth and success of the Kansas technology industry, today announced that Conner Hampton has departed from his role as Executive Director, effective immediately.
FlagshipKansas.Tech remains steadfast in its mission to advance the Kansas tech industry through strategic initiatives focused on awareness, workforce development, and education.
During this transitional period, FlagshipKansas.Tech will be guided by its Board of Directors and a dedicated advisory board. This year, FlagshipKansas.Tech has implemented a digital skills training initiative with online and in-person statewide workshops and sessions on AI, cybersecurity, and accessibility along with Women in Tech professional development and networking. The 2024 series will culminate in the upcoming Ad Astra Technology Summit, which is scheduled to take place in Wichita on October 2.
“We’re building off the momentum from last year’s summit that had more than 750 attendees and featured a moderated chat with tech icon and Apple Co-Founder Steve Wozniak. We’ve funneled that energy and key learnings into this year’s schedule, with an exciting line-up of more than 15 curated breakout sessions and 30 faculty, statewide tech awards, and structured networking opportunities to foster connections between industry, entrepreneurs, and educators,” said Megan Harper, Board Vice Chair and Ad Astra Tech Summit Co-Chair.
The 2024 summit will feature a highly anticipated moderated conversation with renowned science educator Bill Nye, alongside other key industry discussions to be announced later this month. Tech award nominations for tech professionals, entrepreneurs/startups, companies, and educators are being accepted at adastrasummit.tech through September 5. This event underscores an ongoing commitment to fostering innovation and collaboration within the Kansas tech community.
Luis Rodriguez, Immediate Past Board Chair and Ad Astra Technology Summit Co-Chair, will be the primary contact for membership, sponsorship, and event-related inquiries until a new Executive Director is appointed. He can be reached through our Contact page. The Board will commence a statewide search for a new Executive Director at a future date.
“We remain fully committed to our mission and the important work ahead. Our focus on the Ad Astra Technology Summit and the future leadership of FlagshipKansas.Tech will ensure that we continue to serve our members and the broader tech community with excellence,” said Ben Sebree, Chair of FlagshipKansas.Tech.
